Project Title:

Logistical & Administrative Support to Execute Vitamin A Supplementation (VAS) Program related activities in Pakistan (FY 2025-2026)

Vitamin A deficiency remains a major public health concern in Pakistan, with more than half of children aged 6–59 months affected. Nutrition International (NI), in partnership with UNICEF and the Government of Pakistan, provides the annual national supply of Vitamin A capsules and supports program delivery through capacity building, monitoring, training, and awareness efforts. To ensure effective implementation of Vitamin A Supplementation (VAS) during National Immunization Days (NIDs) and improve coverage, NI requires an agency to provide administrative, logistical, and reporting support for a series of national and provincial activities. These include training of Provincial/District Focal Persons (DFPs), organization of biannual national VAS meetings, coordination of external monitoring in low-performing districts, and facilitation of advocacy and stakeholder planning meetings linked with EPI and LHW programs.

The assignment supports NI’s role as the technical lead while ensuring smooth operational execution across all provinces and regions of Pakistan.

HIMAT Consulting provided full logistical, administrative, and coordination support for the implementation of NI’s VAS activities. This included organizing and managing six provincial/regional training workshops for approximately 180 DFPs, covering venue selection, participant management, printing of materials, and compliance with NI procedures. HIMAT facilitated pre- and post-test administration, compiled results, and prepared detailed training reports and financial documentation.

The firm supported NI in conducting two national biannual VAS meetings by managing all event logistics, coordination with stakeholders, participant arrangements, and timely submission of meeting reports. HIMAT also led the recruitment, coordination, and payment of monitors for external monitoring across 21 low-coverage districts before, during, and after the May and September/October NIDs. This included briefing coordination, development of visit plans, collection of completed monitoring tools, and preparation of monitoring summaries.

Additionally, HCPL organized two stakeholder planning meetings on integrating VAS with EPI/LHW programs and two advocacy meetings on implementation research for neonatal VAS. For each activity, the firm ensured full logistical support, minute-taking, report preparation, and submission of all financial records.

The firm remained available for any additional support required to facilitate smooth implementation of NI’s VAS program activities.
