Baseline Assessment for "Increase Gains in Nutrition by Integration, Education, Evaluation and Empowerment (IGNIT3)" Capacity-building Project in District Swabi, KP

The “Increase Gains in Nutrition by Integration, Education, Evaluation, and Empowerment (IGNIT3)” project aimed to strengthen nutrition outcomes in District Swabi through integrated capacity-building interventions. Implemented by IRSP, The project focused on enhancing community knowledge, strengthening service delivery mechanisms, and improving coordination among stakeholders involved in maternal, child, and adolescent nutrition. The baseline assessment provided a comprehensive understanding of the current nutritional status, community practices, awareness levels, and service delivery gaps. Its purpose is to generate evidence that informs program planning, training needs, monitoring benchmarks, and evaluation frameworks for IGNIT3. 


The assessment was intended to guide IRSP and partners in designing targeted capacity-building activities and tracking improvements throughout the project lifecycle. 

HIMAT Consulting is responsible for conducting the full baseline assessment in accordance with the scope and methodology defined by IRSP. This includes designing and implementing data collection tools, conducting household surveys, KIIs, and FGDs with relevant stakeholders, and capturing baseline indicators related to nutrition knowledge, practices, and access to nutrition services. 


The team ensured compliance with IRSP’s cultural values, ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and all laws applicable during fieldwork. HIMAT managed field operations, supervised data collectors, ensured data quality, and maintained communication with IRSP regarding contextual changes, timelines, and progress. The firm provided all required datasets, documentation, and analytical reports as per agreed timelines, integrating IRSP’s feedback throughout the process. 

Activities included desk review, sampling design, development of enumerator training materials, field deployment, real-time monitoring, and preparation of the baseline report. All concepts, data, and outputs generated remain the exclusive property of IRSP. HIMAT Consulting also supported IRSP in record sharing and maintained full compliance with the proprietary and confidentiality obligations defined under the contract.
