Project Title:
Capacity Assessment and Capacity Development of 20 urban CSOs on Functional and Operationalize the Union Councils Development Plans (UCDPs) in 15 UCs (Qasimabad, Hyderabad)
TRDP implemented CSO BRIDGE program in district Hyderabad. CSO BRIDGE program was implemented by a consortium led by Welthungerhilfe WHH (“consortium lead”) in partnership with Concern Worldwide in Sindh and Punjab. WHH has designed the program in collaboration with Concern Worldwide an Irish INGO, and a fellow member of the European alliance 2015 network; Thardeep Rural Development Program (TRDP) in Hyderabad; Farmer Development Organization (FDO) in Multan; and Lodhran Pilot Project (LPP) in Bahawalpur. European Union (EU) is funding the CSO BRIDGE project to strengthen the civil society in addressing social and economic challenges and increasing the voice of youth in Pakistan in follow up of the COVID 19 outbreak.
The program put the civil society organizations (CSOs) at the core of community preparedness on the impact of COVID-19 on youth’s economic empowerment and improved local governance in the targeted districts where the livelihood of semi-urban communities had been adversely affected by the COVID 19.
The overall objective of the Programme was to minimize the socio-economic vulnerabilities of communities especially youth in Multan, Bahawalpur and Hyderabad by putting in the place the role of effective civil society, improved public services and economically empowered target group during and post COVID-19 times in the targeted districts. During the inception phase of the assignment, HCPL experts has developed the detailed questionnaire/tool for capacity need assessment (CNA) of CSO’s and tool was shared with TRDP for review and feedback.
After finalization of the study tool, HCPL field team conducted the detailed capacity need assessment meeting with every CSO (20 meetings were conducted with 20 CSO’s). The detailed discussion was carried out with CSO executive body or board members were conducted and documents were also checked (as and where required as per study tool) to assess the organizational existing capacities in multiple organizational domains and sub-domains. Capacity needs assessment (CNA) was conducted through participatory & consultative approach in line of communication with TRDP and WHH.
