Project Title:

Comprehensive Value Chain and Market Study/Research in Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

CESVI commissioned a comprehensive value chain and market study in Charsadda district under the BRAVE program, aiming to enhance economic activity and climate resilience among vulnerable communities.

The project focused on identifying profitable and inclusive value chains, assessing skills and market gaps, and recommending interventions to improve access to markets, training, and livelihoods. Emphasis was placed on the inclusion of women, persons with disabilities, and youth in the selected value chains, in alignment with CESVI’s broader goal of promoting sustainable economic growth and climate adaptation.

HCPL was responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive mixed-methods assessment, including literature reviews, stakeholder consultations, and both qualitative and quantitative fieldwork. Key services included developing and piloting data collection tools, conducting FGDs and KIIs with value chain actors, collecting and analyzing market data, mapping value chains, and assessing training and institutional support needs. HCPL also conducted a validation workshop with key stakeholders, developed a capacity-building plan, and delivered a final report with strategic recommendations for inclusive, climate-resilient livelihood development. Quality assurance, ethical data collection, and gender-sensitive methodologies were integrated throughout the assignment.
