Feasibility Study on Pre-primary Viable Models and Out-of-School Children in Villages of Garam Chashma and Immit

An integrated approach for early childhood development was implemented in the AKDN ECD Strategy for Pakistan (ECD), with the Ali Jilani colony in Karachi and two valleys in Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral (GBC) serving as pilot sites.

The primary objective of this strategy was to reduce the challenging circumstances that can endanger young children’s early development by collaborating with AKDN agencies and Jamati institutions. To achieve this goal, the initiative aimed to build on existing ECD interventions and introduce new programs to increase access to ECD services and enhance the quality of current services.

Through a nationwide competitive process, the AKF hired the services of HCPL to commission this feasibility study over a period of three months, w.e.f. March 13, 2023, which is the official date of signing the contract agreement between HCPL and AKF. Immediately after signing the agreement, HCPL held an inception meeting with AKF on March 27, 2023, to formally embark on the process of conducting this feasibility study.
