The Sindh Early Learning Enhancement through Classroom Transformation (SELECT) Project, supported by the World Bank and led by the Sindh Education and Literacy Department, aimed to enhance reading skills and improve student retention in early grade primary education within selected districts of Sindh, Pakistan.
The five-year initiative focuses on upgrading schools, improving teaching practices, and creating safe, inclusive learning environments. The project's multi-dimensional approach addresses educational challenges such as inadequate teaching quality, poor infrastructure, and gender-based barriers to education, targeting five million students, with 30% being girls.
HIMAT Consulting Private Limited (HCPL) is conducting the process evaluation for the SELECT project, employing a participatory and multi-layered approach.
