Project Title:
Proposal Development for "Disability-inclusive Community-based Disaster Risk Development Project" for district Nowshera, KP, Pakistan
The Disability-Inclusive Community-Based Disaster Risk Development Project aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience in District Nowshera—one of the most flood-affected districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The project sought to integrate disability-inclusive approaches into community-level disaster risk reduction (DRR) planning, ensuring that persons with disabilities, their families, and vulnerable groups are meaningfully included in preparedness, response, and recovery mechanisms. By conducting a detailed context and flood impact analysis, identifying gaps in current DRR systems, and designing inclusive interventions, the project intends to build resilient communities, strengthen early-warning and evacuation mechanisms, and promote equitable risk mitigation strategies aligned with humanitarian and disability frameworks.
HIMAT Consulting developed the full proposal package for the Disability-Inclusive Community-Based Disaster Risk Development Project in District Nowshera. The team conducted a comprehensive context and flood impact analysis, reviewing secondary data, district disaster profiles, historical flood impacts, and vulnerabilities faced by persons with disabilities. HIMAT prepared a complete Logical Framework Approach (LFA), including outcomes, outputs, activities, indicators, and means of verification tailored to disability-inclusive DRR objectives.
The firm drafted the detailed project proposal incorporating community-based, inclusive DRR strategies, stakeholder engagement mechanisms, and actionable implementation pathways. Additionally, HIMAT developed a costed project budget covering all operational, programmatic, and capacity-building components. A risk assessment was conducted, outlining key environmental, social, operational, and contextual risks, along with corresponding mitigation strategies to ensure feasibility and sustainability. All deliverables were prepared within agreed timelines and aligned with donor and organizational requirements.
